After a short morning flight from Dhaka, you’ll arrive in the peaceful town of Sylhet. Your first stop is the magical Ratargul Swamp Forest — one of the few freshwater swamp forests in the country. Hop on a small wooden boat and glide through the calm waters surrounded by trees, where you might spot birds, monkeys, and even playful otters.
Next, you’ll take a scenic drive to Lala Khal, close to the border with India. Here, the river glows in beautiful shades of blue and green, thanks to the natural minerals in the water. Cruise along in a local engine boat and enjoy the peaceful views. You’ll also meet the Khasi people who live in the nearby hills and learn about their simple, beautiful way of life.
In the evening, you’ll settle in for an overnight stay in Sylhet, filled with stories of nature and culture.

Day 3: Sail into Serenity: Tanguar Haor Houseboat Experience
In the morning, take a scenic drive to Sunamganj—it takes about two and a half hours. Here, your adventure begins at Tanguar Haor, one of the largest and most beautiful wetlands in Bangladesh. This special place is home to over 200 kinds of birds, 140 types of fish, and 46 small villages floating in a sea of green and blue.
You’ll hop on a cozy houseboat from Shaheb Bari Ghat and join a shared group tour (available on Fridays during the monsoon). As the boat glides across the calm water, enjoy four delicious meals on board—including a traditional breakfast of chicken khichuri, egg curry, and fresh salad.
Throughout the day, your boat will take you to incredible spots: the wide-open beauty of Khorchar Haor, the Watch Tower with sweeping views, and the Hijol-Karac submerged forest that feels like a watery dream. You’ll also stop at the stunning blue waters of Niladri Lake and the historic limestone lands of Tekerghat, where you’ll stay the night.
Take a swim in the crystal-clear waters, watch the sun dip into the horizon, and fall asleep on your boat, surrounded by nature’s quiet magic.

Day 4: Sunrise in Haor & River and evening Journey to Sylhet
Wake up to the peaceful rhythm of nature as the sun rises over the calm waters of Tanguar Haor. After a warm cup of tea on the houseboat, set off on a gentle morning cruise along the Jaudkata River. Along the way, you’ll pass the golden sands and crystal-clear waters of the Jadukata River, nestled close to the Indian border. Stop at Barikka Tila, a quiet hilltop with sweeping views of the surrounding wetlands, and stroll through Shimul Bagan—a lovely grove of silk cotton trees that burst into red blooms in spring.
As you float through the river, see how life unfolds on water. Watch local fishermen skillfully cast their nets from wooden boats, and visit small floating markets where villagers trade fresh fish, rice, and seasonal crops from boat to boat.
By evening, return to Sunamganj and continue your journey with a two-hour drive to Sylhet.
Overnight: Sylhet

Early in the morning around 6:00 AM, you’ll be picked up from your vessel and taken on a scenic one-hour drive to a peaceful riverside area. From there, you’ll board a small country boat with a local boatman and begin your relaxing canal cruise through quiet villages and calm waters.
Soon, you’ll arrive at a lively floating market, where farmers in small wooden boats sell fresh vegetables directly to vendors. It’s a wonderful glimpse into daily river life and local traditions. After enjoying the sights and sounds of the market, you’ll continue your cruise along narrow canals, surrounded by green landscapes and village scenes—a true taste of rural Bangladesh.
After lunch, visit Bagerhat, a town with very old mosques. Walk through the famous 60 Dome Mosque and visit a quiet shrine nearby. Then ride to Mongla and take a boat to the Sundarbans. This forest is full of big trees, muddy creeks, and wild animals with extraodinary eco system. If you’re lucky, you might see a river dolphin, monitor lizard etc along with some species in artificial berrding center of crocodiles in Karamjal, which is the first forest station on Sundarban! You’ll sleep in an eco-resort near the forest, surrounded by nature.

Day 7: Explore Sundarban Forest and Airport Drop

Our main goal will be to spot and observe various species of birds and other wildlife such as river crocodiles. While we cannot guarantee a sighting of tigers or deer, we will keep our eyes peeled for any potential encounters with these majestic creatures.
After a fulfilling breakfast, we will make our way to Karamjal, an artificial breeding point for deer and crocodiles. Here, we will continue our boating adventure with the hope of spotting water monitor lizards and more deer. Although tiger tracks have been found in this area, it is unlikely to come across one during the day.
