Panam City and Sonargaon Museum Tour

In a day trip in Panam City and near by Sonargaon Museum (Folk Art and Craft Museum), you can experience the authentic culture and heritage of Bengali nation from the rich history of Mugal Empire to British transformation. You  will be able to visualize our country life as well as get a glance of Future Dhaka, which we hope to be extended by next 20 years. The tour mostly covers the story of a capital transformation along with it’s life, economy and culture.

Itinerary of Panam City & Sonargaon Museum Tour

Early Morning Start:

9:30 am – 11:00 am: We will start from guest’s hotel or place of residence in the early morning towards Sonargaon which is app. 30 KM away from main city. Though the distance is not lengthy, it will take an hour and half to reach there for heavy traffic.

11:00 am – 11:30 am: First we will step in to Goaldi Mosque which was built in 1519 A.D. in a village named Goaldi at Sonargaon by Mulla Hizabar Akbar Khan during the reign of Sultan Hussain Shah.

11:30 pm  – 1:30 pm: We will visit Shadar Bari – a kinds palace which is now converted in Sonargaon Museum of Folk Art and Crafts. The area has another newly constructed building of folk art which will be covered too in the tour. We will move around the campus a bit and you will get the flavor of authentic culture and heritage of Bengali nation.

Lunch at Noon:

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Lunch at a moderate local restaurant with local food, which expected to be a bit spicy. If you are not interested on such food, we may carry some quick snakes with us which will be served during lunch time(Please notify the issue during booking).

2:00 am – 2:45 pm: We will visit the Panam City, build on early 1900. Wealthy Hindu colon business man used to live here and they left back everything during India-Pakistan partition. The rich architecture and the single road divided colonial system is one of the the highlights of our tour.

2:45 pm – 3:00 pm: We hope to explore a primary school made out of bamboo and which is famous for it’s unique design. During the visit, you may meet local children and people. If you are interested you can discover their life in country site.

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Boat ride to Meghna river is our last attraction in Sonargaon. Bangladesh is known as country of thousand rivers and one of the three major rivers that makes Bangladesh a green wet land is Meghna. During the boat ride, you will discover the true country side of Banglaesh.

Evening Return Journey:

4:00 pm – 6:30 pm: Drive back to Hotel by a different route. You will have enjoy the sun set as well as the country life. Just before Panam City & Sonargaon Museum tour ends, you can have a look of future Dhaka, which might get lively after 20 years from now on.
